South Alabama basketball gets commitment from D2 guard

South Alabama basketball on Sunday landed its first transfer commitment of the current cycle in Dylan Fasoyiro, a guard from Division II Daemen (N.Y.) University.

The 6-foot-6 Fasoyiro was an All-East Coast Conference selection at Daemen in 2023-24, when he averaged 17.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He shot 41.7% from 3-point range.

Fasoyiro announced his commitment via Twitter/X:

A Houston native, Fasoyiro played his first two years of college basketball at Ashland (Ohio) University. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

South Alabama still has several scholarships available for 2024-25, having lost seniors Tyrell Jones, Isiah Gaiter, Samuel Tabe and Marshall Kearing to graduation and freshman Marcus “Smurf” Millender to the transfer portal. In addition, forward Thomas Howell elected to end his career rather than play another year of college basketball.

The Jaguars went 16-16 last season, losing in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
