Florence police are continuing to investigate the death of a woman found Wednesday morning in her residence.

According to police, officers responded at 8:45 a.m. to a home in the 1200 block of West Mobile Street.

A family member found Marshai Nichole Gayden, 31, dead inside Gayden’s home and called police.

Officers began a crime scene investigation due to “suspicious circumstances,” police said.

Gayden’s body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
