36-year-old killed in Center Point shooting

A Saturday night shooting in a Jefferson County neighborhood left one man dead.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched just before 7 p.m. to a report of a person down in the 400 block of 16th Court N.W. in the Center Point area.

They arrived to find a 36-year-old man wounded by gunfire, according to sheriff’s officials. Center Point Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

No additional details surrounding the fatal shooting have been released, and no arrests have been made.
