3 killed, 1 injured in overnight crash in western Jefferson County

Three people were killed and a fourth injured in an overnight crash in western Jefferson County.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 10 p.m. Saturday to the 7800 block of Blackie Curren Road on a report of a single-vehicle wreck.

Lt. Joni Money said they arrived to find that a black Honda Civic had lost control and crashed into a ravine.

The female driver, along with two passengers – one male and one female – all were pronounced dead at the scene. Another male was taken to UAB Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

All of the victims were adults. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
