You can get free coffee today at Starbucks. Here’s how

Starbucks is giving patrons a post-Super Bowl special.

The coffee chain is offering Starbucks Rewards members free coffee today for a promotion the company is calling “Starbucks Monday.” Members of the rewards program can stop in for a free tall hot or iced brewed coffee at any time on Feb. 10.

Customers can apply the Starbucks Monday coupon in the Starbucks app prior to placing their order when using the order ahead feature on the app, or tell a barista they are redeeming the coupon when ordering in-store or in the drive-thru, according to USA TODAY.

Starbucks now offers free refills

Starbucks started offering free refills in late January. After patrons’ first beverage order, Starbucks will follow that initial purchase with free refills of hot brewed or iced coffee or tea, as long as customers order the beverages to be consumed in-store. Starbucks will serve the refills in a coffee mug, glass, or in a clean, personal cup patrons can bring from home. The free refills are part of Starbucks’ initiative to return to its roots as a “community coffeehouse.”

While Starbucks will give out more free coffee and tea, the Seattle-based coffee chain is also planning cutbacks. Over the course of the year, Starbucks will downsize its menu and remove a number of food and drink options in the next few months in an effort to cut costs and improve the customer experience.
