How soon is too soon to realize that you made a mistake? To be honest with yourself as an athletics director, a university president and a board of trustees and admit that the coach you hired to bring back the glory days or take your program to another level is not the man for the job?

Former Florida AD Jeremy Foley adopted a popular leadership philosophy from outside the sports world to address that question when he said, “What must be done eventually should be done immediately.”
