‘WWE in the West Wing’: Elon Musk gets into shouting match with another ‘middle-aged billionaire’

Elon Musk nearly came to blows with a member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet as the billionaire Tesla owner became frustrated over the IRS, according to a report.

Musk and Treasure Secretary Scott Bessent got into the heated argument within earshot of Trump.

“It was two billionaire, middle-aged men thinking it was WWE in the hall of the West Wing,” a witness to the verbal smackdown told Axios, which first reported on the confrontation.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt downplayed the dispute, saying, “it’s no secret President Trump has put together a team of people who are incredibly passionate about the issues impacting our country.”

“Disagreements are a normal part of any healthy policy process,” Leavitt told Axios, “and ultimately everyone knows they serve at the pleasure of President Trump.”

The verbal confrontation wasn’t the first time Musk’s brusque style has ruffled feathers with Trump administration officials.

Musk got into a dispute with Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro, whom Musk said was “dumber than a sack of bricks” earlier this month amid friction over Trump’s tariffs.

Musk referred to Navarro using a slur for a developmentally disabled person after the Tesla billionaire claimed Navarro minimized his company’s role.
