Woman with baby shows up at Mobile gas station with gunshot wound to the neck
A Mobile woman stopped at a gas station seeking help after being shot Thursday morning, according to the Mobile Police Department.
A spokesperson for the department said the victim arrived at Speed Stop gas station on Government Street with a gunshot wound in her neck.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim suffering a gunshot wound to the neck, which did not appear to be life-threatening at the time of contact,” the official said.
Police are still investigating the shooting which they say occurred at approximately 8 a.m. two blocks away from the gas station.
A baby was with the woman during the incident but was unharmed and secured by officers until a family member was contacted, according to the spokesperson.
The shooting is the third instance of gun violence in Mobile this week, with all victims sustaining non-life threatening injuries.
On Monday, one person was shot on St. Stephen’s road and on Wednesday two people were shot at Clark’s gas station on Moffett Road.
