Woman wanted in Texas shooting in custody after standoff involving child on I-65 in Autauga County

Traffic is shut down on Interstate 65 in Autauga County after a chase involving a woman wanted in a shooting in Texas, officials said.

The woman is now in custody.

ALEA State Trooper Lt. Jeremy Burkett confirmed some sort of standoff on the interstate is underway.

District Attorney CJ Robinson Shots said spike strips were used to stop the suspect’s car. A child was believed to have been in the car with the suspect, Robinson said.

The ordeal began at 12:19 p.m. Friday near the 192 mile marker.

The northbound traffic on I-65 was being diverted at Exit 186.
