A woman died in a shooting Sunday morning in Selma.

Officers were dispatched at 5 a.m. to a report of a person shot in the 600 block of Twenty-Foot Avenue.

While they were en route, police said, officers located a vehicle that was trying to get the 23-year-old victim to the hospital.

Police escorted the vehicle to the hospital. The woman was later pronounced dead.
