A woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was found shot late Friday afternoon in Montgomery, authorities said.

Montgomery police and fire medics responded to the 3100 block of Ravenwood Drive around 4:42 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. Tina McGriff.

Authorities found the victim, only identified as an adult female, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The shooting remained under investigation as of Friday evening, McGriff said.
