A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday in northern Jefferson County.

Sheriff’s deputies were called just before 11 a.m. to the 2400 block of Morris Majestic Road near Morris on a report of a wreck, said sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money.

Authorities said it appears the woman’s 2023 Dodge Durango crossed the railroad tracks and left the road, crashing into a tree.

The female driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
