Woman killed in morning shooting near I-359 in Tuscaloosa
An early-morning shooting in Tuscaloosa left one person dead.
The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday at Interstate 359 and 15th Street, said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Marty Sellers.
A woman was killed in the shooting.
Officers initially responded to a report of a crash at that location. When they arrived, they found a car had crashed into a street sign and found the victim inside the car.
Police initially shut down both lanes of 15th Street but as of 7:45 a.m., the eastbound lane had reopened. The westbound lane remains closed between Greensboro Avenue and the Lurleen Wallace Boulevard overpass bridges as investigators continue to process the vehicle connected to the deadly shooting.
