Woman killed, another hurt in head-on crash in west Alabama
A woman was killed and another was injured after the car they were in collided head-on with a tractor-trailer Thursday morning in west Alabama, authorities said Friday.
Irene Watkins, 59, of Greensboro, was a passenger in a 2014 Cadillac XTS that collided head-on with a 2006 International tractor-trailer around 11:15 a.m. Thursday on Alabama Highway 69, about three miles north of Greensboro, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Cpl. Reginal King.
Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Cadillac was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
