A 71-year old woman was killed and two people were injured, including a child, in an accident Monday morning in north Alabama near the Tennessee border.

The wreck occurred at Main Street and Carson Way in Ardmore, according to Ardmore Fire and Rescue.

Tennessee State Troopers also responded to the accident that killed 71-year-old Carol Lewis, WAAY reported.

Lewis was believed to have had a medical emergency that caused her to lose control of her vehicle and veer into incoming traffic, police told the station. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman and a child in a vehicle struck by Lewis’ vehicle were hurt in the accident.
