This story stinks. But it actually happened in Michigan.

A woman had to be hoisted from the bowels of an outhouse toilet after she lowered herself inside to retrieve an Apple Watch, officials said.

According to the Michigan State Police, the bizarre incident occurred near the Department of Natural Resources boat launch at Dixon Lake in Otsego County on Tuesday.

The woman, who was stuck inside the toilet, was heard yelling for help, police said.

Conservation officers, troopers and Otsego County EMS responded to the scene. The toilet was removed, and a strap was used to hoist the woman out to safety.

“If you lose an item in an outhouse toilet, do not attempt to venture inside the containment area,” a MSP statement said. “Serious injury may occur.”
