An investigation is underway after a woman was found shot to death inside an Anniston home.

Police officers were dispatched at 2:55 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of Elm Street on a report of an unconscious female, said Sgt. Jason Hawkins. Once at the home, they found the woman dead inside.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Jasmine Nicole Whitson. Investigators determined she had been shot.

Hawkins said no additional details are being released at this time.
