Woman found dead on Birmingham road now identified

Authorities have been able to identify a woman found dead four days ago on a Birmingham road.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Hollie Marie Rojas. She was 41 and lived in Birmingham.

Coroner’s officials on Wednesday asked for the public’s help in identifying the woman, releasing her description, as well as descriptions of her jewelry and tattoos.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said an autopsy showed no signs of trauma or foul play in her death. The cause of death is pending additional lab studies.

A passerby made the discovery at 4:37 p.m. Sunday on 17th Street S.W. between Laurel Avenue and Cedar Avenue. Rojas was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:22 p.m.
