A 31-year-old woman is charged with killing her 67-year-old father outside his Florida Panhandle home Wednesday, the Santa Rosa County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to a home in Milton about 2 p.m. Wednesday after a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found the victim, identified as 67-year-old Timothy Delong, inside the home in the 4900 block of Community Circle with an apparent stab wound.

Delong was transported to a hospital, but he later died.

Santa Rosa investigators received a tip the suspect may be located inside the home, so they returned and located the victim’s daughter, Brea Michelle Delong.

Brea Delong was taken for treatment of undisclosed medical issues, after which she was transported to the Santa Rosa County Detention Center for questioning, after which she was booked on a charge of 2nd-degree homicide.

As of Thursday afternoon, Brea Delong remained in the detention center, held without bond.
