Woman accused of helping escapee from Morgan County jail arrested

Morgan County authorities have arrested a woman who they say helped an escapee from the Morgan County Jail Sunday.

Jodie Ann Kilpatric, 51, of Hartselle, has been charged with first degree permitting or facilitating escape.

Investigators say Kilpatric assisted Jeremy Taylor once he left the Morgan County Jail.

Taylor, of Hartselle, reportedly crawled out a single-paned window at the jail Sunday. He was recaptured Monday morning. According to investigators, Taylor was able to exit the jail through a window that was thought to be secure.

Taylor is now back in the Morgan County Jail after being picked up from Franklin County, Tenn. He was arrested on a warrant for second degree escape and booked into the Morgan County Jail. He is being held on $250,000 bond, for escape, and no bond for his other charges.

Kilpatric surrendered herself at the Morgan County Jail Tuesday. She is being held on $2,500 bond.
