Witnesses, information sought 1 year after 66-year-old man slain on porch of Birmingham home
It’s been one year since a 66-year-old man was found shot dead on the front porch of a Birmingham home, and no arrests have been made.
Curtis Alvin Ware was found slain in Inglenook just before 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022.
It wasn’t immediately clear when the deadly shooting happened, but Officer Truman Fitzgerald said investigators discovered that someone had fired multiple shots into the residence.
Ware was pronounced dead on the scene.
A friend said Ware had lived in the neighborhood for a long time. The house where he was found was not his home, but a popular hangout spot.
His friend said he last saw him alive at 9 p.m. the night before.
Investigators at the time said they believed Ware was targeted.
“To this day,” Fitzgerald said, “no one is in custody.”
Birmingham police are asking for help from the public.
