Witnesses, clues sought in shooting death of 22-year-old Birmingham man
Authorities are asking for the public’s help with information the killing of a 22-year-old Birmingham man.
D’Anthony Dejuan Jones was shot Aug. 20 in the 2100 block of Avenue I in Ensley.
South Precinct officers were dispatched about 1:30 a.m. to UAB Hospital after Jones showed up there by vehicle.
Jones was pronounced deceased by UAB medical staff at 1:39 a.m.
Birmingham police said Jones and a friend were in a vehicle on Avenue I, Ensley when the shooting happened about 1 a.m.
The victim was a passenger inside the vehicle when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots at him and fled in another vehicle. The friend was not injured.
Jones, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald, was targeted.
No arrests have been made.
