Wishbone Boys golf tournament scheduled for fall in Bessemer
The inaugural Wishbone Boys charity golf tournament takes place Nov. 2 at Bent Brook in Bessemer.
The tournament is being organized by the producers of “The Wishbone Boys,” the 2021 documentary detailing the glory days of Alabama’s wishbone offense under coach Paul “Bear” Bryant in the 1970s and 1980s. The event takes place two days before the 1973 Alabama national championship team will be honored at the Crimson Tide’s Nov. 4 game vs. LSU at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
Cost for the tournament is $200 per person, $800 per foursome. Proceeds will benefit the Hope Village Home for Children, founded by actress and Alabama alum Sela Ward.
The tournament will also include lunch, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and other events, plus a “meet and greet” with the stars of the “wishbone era” of Alabama football. For more information, email [email protected] or call (404) 246-9957.
