Wind advisory issued for North Alabama until Thursday evening

On Thursday at 11:56 a.m. a wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Thursday between noon and 7 p.m. for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman counties.

The weather service says, “Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 to 40 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” says the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”
