Wind advisory issued for North Alabama until Monday afternoon

On Sunday at 3:47 a.m. a wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 3 p.m. until Monday 3 p.m. for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman counties.

The weather service describes, “Sustained winds around 20 mph, with frequent gusts up to 35 mph, are expected across all of northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee. Winds will be from the south-southeast today and from the north-northwest tomorrow.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” says the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”
