Wind advisory issued for North Alabama for Thursday and Friday

A wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 1:12 p.m. valid from Thursday 7 a.m. until Friday 7 a.m. for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman counties.

The weather service comments, “Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” comments the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
