Wind advisory issued for Alabama until Wednesday midday
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 1:25 a.m. on Tuesday valid from noon until Wednesday noon for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga and Elmore counties.
The weather service comments, “Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.”
“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” explains the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
