Wind advisory issued for Alabama for Monday and Tuesday

On Sunday at 1:35 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory valid from Monday 3 p.m. until Tuesday 6 p.m. for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour counties.

The weather service comments, “South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 to 50 mph.”

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” adds the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
