Wind advisory affecting South Alabama Friday

On Thursday at 4:19 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory valid for Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. for Choctaw, Washington, Clarke, Wilcox, Monroe, Conecuh, Butler, Crenshaw, Escambia, Covington, Mobile and Baldwin counties.

The weather service comments, “Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” says the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
