Wilmer woman admitted she shot mother with ‘intent to murder,’ Mobile police say
A 43-year-old Wilmer woman is charged with attempted murder after police say she admitted to shooting her 65-year-old mother in Mobile Saturday morning.
Police responded to a residence on Alexander Street just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, officers found 65-year-old Kimberlie Ann Love suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim’s daughter, 43-year-old Jessica Wayne Love, was still at the residence and admitted to police she shot her mother “with the intent to murder her,” according to the criminal complaint filed in Mobile County District Court.
The elder Love was taken to a local hospital for treatment, while Jessica Love was taken into custody and transported to Mobile Metro Jail, charged with attempted murder and 1st-degree domestic violence. She remained held without bond as of Monday afternoon.
