Willie Nelson pulled from performing due to health reasons, releases statement
Legendary singer Willie Nelson was pulled from the lineup of Friday’s Outlaw Music Festival in Georgia because of his health.
“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,” a post to Nelson’s X, formerly Twitter, account on Friday read. “He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week. In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, along with a few guests, will perform a special set to include Willie’s classics and other songs.”
The “On the Road” singer, 91, is expected to make a full recovery and return to the stage next week.
Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, and the Family Band performed covers of Nelson’s classic songs and other hits in his place.
Performers such as Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss were to “continue to perform as scheduled.”
Friday was the opening date for the Outlaw Music Festival.
