Will RFK Jr. drop out and support Trump? Here’s what running mate Nicole Shanahan says

Mystery solved.

The question of whose Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s all-but-impossible presidential race will siphon more votes from, Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, has been answered.

And it’s Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, who dished.

Kennedy is considering ending his 2024 bid, she said in a recent interview. Why? Because staying in the race could help the Democratic ticket. If Kennedy drops out it’ll be to support Trump, she added.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party. But we run the risk of Kamala Harris and (Tim) Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw more voters from Trump.

“Or, we walk away, right now, and join forces with Donald Trump, you know, we talk away from that and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision. Not easy. Not an easy decision,” Shanahan said.

When Kennedy launched his bid, it was unclear who the third-party candidate would be a spoiler for when it was Trump versus Joe Biden.

But as his popularity plummeted and with Biden out of the race, public polls show Kennedy would likely hurt Trump’s chances in November more than Harris.

Kennedy recently bashed Harris after various outlets reported he was seeking a role in her administration if she wins this fall in exchange for him dropping out and endorsing her.

“VP Harris’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle,” Kennedy said after disputing the reports.
