The letter may be in the mail but it won’t be delivered today.

The U.S. Postal Service is closed for the New Year’s Day federal holiday today (Jan. 1, 2024). Post offices are closed and mail won’t be delivered.  All retail services will be on hold that day, as will collection of blue boxes, except for Priority Mail Express which is delivered 365 days a year in select locations for an additional fee.

The post offices will be open and regular mail delivery will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
