Will Auburn Basketball try anything new in final two games of the season
Auburn basketball clinched the regular season conference title after its victory at Kentucky and Alabama’s heartbreaking defeat to Tennessee Saturday.
The Tigers sit at 15-1 in SEC play, marking its best record against conference opponents in program history.
With two games left before the conference tournament, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said the approach will remain the same no matter where they sit in the rankings.
“We have a lot to play for. We’re trying to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament,” Pearl said Monday morning. “The possibility of being undefeated on the road this year is incredible. We’ve never beaten Alabama and Kentucky on the road in the same year.”
The Tigers final road contest will be at Texas A&M, and they will host Alabama for the regular season finale.
Pearl previewed Tuesday’s matchup against the Aggies comparing their roster makeup to the teams that defeated Auburn this year.
“Texas A&M will be one of the more physical teams we’ve played against,” Pearl added. “Let’s just say three of the most physical teams we’ve played against: Duke and Florida were two losses, and Tennessee was a close game. I think those would be the top three most physical teams we’ve played against.”
Tuesday’s game against Texas A&M is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
