Wife of Alabama tow truck driver who was shot to death files wrongful death suit

The wife of a man shot to death last December in Madison County has filed a wrongful death suit against the man accused of shooting him.

The four-page suit, filed in Madison County Circuit Court Monday, alleges wrongful death “due to negligence/wantonness” against Warren Siao, 47, who was charged with murder in the shooting death of Jayson Click, 38, of Grant.

Saio’s case has been referred to a Madison County grand jury. He is currently out on bond.

Click, the owner of Ace Towing, died of gunshot wounds in the incident in Harvest on Dec. 13. The death has been ruled a homicide.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the shooting at a home in the 200 block of Wedgewood Terrace Road in Harvest around 7 p.m.

According to court documents, Siao is accused of shooting Click with an AR rifle.

Madison County Detective Joshua Mosley said in court Siao told him during questioning that he was awakened on the night of the shooting by dogs barking outside his home. He said he believed two people were attempting to steal his car, but also said he was behind on his car payments after being unemployed for three months.

The two men were Click and another tow truck driver. Siao said he fired five to six rounds, but had only intended to scare away the men around his car, according to Mosley.
