Josh the lion, Birmingham’s own Lion King, got moved off Pride Rock this year, temporarily moved out of the traditional lion’s cage at The Birmingham Zoo.
If you go looking for him lounging on the anvil-shaped rock that zoogoers for years have called Pride Rock, like the one in the Disney movie “The Lion King,” or the sequel that opens nationwide today, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” he might not be there.
