Why mail won’t run Monday, Oct. 9

The letter may be in the mail but don’t expect to receive it Monday, Oct. 9.

U.S. Postal Service facilities are closed Monday for Columbus Day. The holiday means there will be no residential or business mail service on that day.

Priority Mail Express will be available Monday and you can use www.usps.com to look up ZIP codes, track packages, buy stamps, hold mail, submit change of address, schedule a package pickup or find location that offer self-service kiosks.

Normal delivery and collection scheduled will resume Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Columbus Day is the eighth postal holiday of the year. It will be followed by Veterans Day on Nov. 11, Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23 and Christmas Day on Dec. 25.
