Who’s the Week 4 Cunningham Bounds Coastal Player of the Week?

Flomaton dual threat running back Jax Fillmore helped lead the Hurricanes to a big Class 3A, Region 1 win at Cottage Hill Christian last week. His efforts also picked up Week 4 Cunningham Bounds Coastal Player of the Week honors in fan voting at AL.com.

Fillmore, a 5-foot-8, 170-pound senior, ran for 258 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries as the Hurricanes improved to 3-1 on the year – matching last season’s win total – and 2-0 in region play with the 34-14 victory. Fillmore also caught a pair of passes for 38 yards and another touchdown.

Fillmore got 4,370 of the 15,470 votes cast in the poll.

Justin Adams of 5A Citronelle finished second in the balloting after scoring three TDs in a 19-13 win at 7A Alma Bryant. Adams had a 7-yard TD in overtime for the Wildcats.

Cole Ulrich helped Elberta pick up its first win of the season with three interceptions, six tackles and 95 receiving yards as the Warriors beat LeFlore 31-13. Ulrich also caught a touchdown pass in the Class 5A, Region 1 win.

Voting for the Cunningham Bounds Coastal Alabama Football Player of the Week opens on Sundays during the season and runs through Wednesday. Nominees are determined from statistics submitted by coaches or official team statisticians before noon each Saturday.

In Week 4, more than 52,000 votes were cast across the three AL.com player of the week polls.
