When you consider the top builders in the Birmingham metro from last year, there’s one that took on most of the biggest projects, and four others weighing in with lower totals.

In the top spot, contractor Brasfield & Gorrie worked on over $150 million worth of commercial construction in Birmingham in 2023, making them the city’s biggest builder of the past year by a wide margin, according to permit database Southern Exposure Information.
