The Week 10 Huntsville Football Player of the Week helped his team to a come-from-behind victory to clinch the No. 2 seed in the playoffs with an all-around offensive effort.
Randolph junior Graham Batey ran for 193 yards and scored all four touchdowns in the Raiders’ 28-24 win at Priceville. Batey ran for three TDs and caught a 31-yard pass in the win as Randolph improved to 6-3 and 6-1 in Class 4A, Region 8.
Batey ran away with the balloting, securing 63 percent of the vote.
David Lloyd has coached the Raiders to the state playoffs in all four of his seasons leading the program.
Westminster Christian quarterback Brandon Musch finished second in the balloting after throwing for 155 yards and running for 134 with three touchdowns through the air and three on the ground. The 8-1 Wildcats beat New Hope for their eighth straight win.
Athens quarterback Brogan Gross was third in the poll after he passed for 349 yards and three touchdowns in a 29-28 win over Fort Payne. The Golden Eagles are 7-2 on the year.
Voting for the Huntsville Football Player of the Week opens on Sundays during the season and runs through Wednesday. Nominees are determined from statistics submitted by coaches or official team statisticians before noon each Saturday.
In Week 10, more than 27,000 votes were cast across the three AL.com player of the week polls.
