The MLB Home Run Derby added a little zing when the national anthem was performed.
To say it was met with mixed reviews would be a stretch.
So who is Ingrid Andress?
Andress is a country singer songwriter, who first broke through with her 2019 single “More Hearts Than Mine” which hit the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at 30.
She collaborated with Sam Hunt on “Wishful Drinking,” which also hit the Hot 100.
The 32-year-old has earned four Grammy nominations, including for Best New Artist and Best Country Song in 2021. She has toured as a solo act with Stevie Nicks and alongside other country stars such as Keith Urban, Dan + Shay and Tim McGraw. Andress has released two albums in her career, most recently “Good Person” in 2022.
In addition, her father, Brad Andress, was a major-league strength and conditioning coach for nearly two decades, including stints with the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies.
Country singer and Texas native Cody Johnson will perform the national anthem before the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
