Who gets the most expensive check from the city of Huntsville each month?

Unlike the Madison County Commission where schools are the top check recipients from the county government most months, the top check holder from the city of Huntsville varies from month-to-month.

Construction companies topped the list multiple times within the past year. That was the case in September with Turner Construction receiving the top two checks from the city, $4.3 million and $3.9 million for work on new city hall.

And Lee Builders received the top check and third highest check of $2.9 million and $1.9 million last October for work on the renovation of Joe Davis Stadium and Raymond Jones Center.

Lee Builders also had the second highest checks in November and December, receiving a $1.9 million for renovation work on Joe Davis Stadium in November and an $868,000 check for work on the Raymond Jones Center in December.
