Who does Alabama football play next? What to know about next game

No. 4 Alabama football remains undefeated heading into the third game, but the South Florida game had plenty of flaws in it.

The 42-16 score makes it look like the Crimson Tide won comfortably, but there was nothing comfortable about it. Not until the final few minutes. Alabama scored three touchdowns over the last six minutes or so to inflate the score. It was a one-score game until then.

Turnovers plagued Alabama (2-0). So, too, did shaky offensive line play, filled with penalties.

The Crimson Tide will aim to get back on track this week with a road trip to Madison, Wisconsin. A similar effort on the road will almost certainly result in a loss.

Up next for Alabama football

Alabama travels to face Wisconsin (2-0) on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. It’s the first time the Crimson Tide will face the Badgers in Wisconsin since Nov. 3, 1928. Wisconsin won that game 15-0.

The two teams last played in 2015 in a neutral site game that Alabama won 35-17.

The Badgers are also 2-0 this season, having beat Western Michigan and South Dakota. Neither game was really all that much of a blowout. Wisconsin won the first 28-14 before beating South Dakota 27-13.

Although Alabama hasn’t played Wisconsin in almost a decade, it has faced the coach more recently. Luke Fickell is leading the Badgers, and he was most recently the head coach of Cincinnati, whom the Crimson Tide beat in the Cotton Bowl in 2021.
