The most expensive public college for out-of-state students is also one of the largest in the state.
The University of Alabama is the most expensive public four-year university for out-of-state students. The remaining top five are the University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Montevallo, University of Alabama at Huntsville and Auburn University at Montgomery.
Highest annual tuition for out-of-state undergraduates is:
- University of Alabama: $33,372
- University of Alabama at Birmingham: $28,140
- University of Montevallo: $25,980
- University of Alabama at Huntsville: $24,650
- Auburn University at Montgomery: $22,546
These rates are based on the estimated cost of attendance for two semesters provided at each university’s website. The rates are based on full time undergraduate enrollment and may not include fees. Graduate, doctoral and international student tuition rates are calculated separately.
