Where to park for Mardi Gras parades in Mobile

The City of Mobile is bracing for the impact of big crowds and full parking lots for the 2024 Mardi Gras season. Here are the details you need to know to get your car parked.

Where: Paid public parking will be available for paradegoers at GulfQuest Maritime Museum at 155 Water St. Free parking, which is unfacilitated by the city, will be available at some designated areas under I-10 at the intersection of Water Street and Monroe Street.

When: Starting Friday, Jan. 26, lots will open for parking two hours before the first parade of the day and will remain open all night to allow attendees to easily access their cars, but the lots will be staffed until 10 p.m.

Cost: All paid parking areas will cost $20 flat for all-day parking. If your car has three or more passengers, that rate drops to $10. Vehicles will be given a one-time promo code for that discount at the location.

How to pay: Cash will not be accepted. The Premium Parking app or on-site kiosks accepting debit and credit cards are the two available payment methods.

The city said it will announce additional parking lots in other areas around Water Street early next week.
