Where is Lee Corso? ESPN ‘College GameDay’ analyst’s not on Championship Week show

Lee Corso was not on set Saturday for ESPN’s “College GameDay” from Atlanta for its Championship Week visit to Atlanta ahead of the SEC Championship Game between No. 5 Georgia and No. 2 Texas.

“Our good friend Lee Corso had a minor procedure this week,” Rece Davis said to start the show. “He’s doing great. Look forward to getting Lee back in the post season. I know he’s watching right now.”

The college football analyst, 89, was missing Week 6 in Berkeley, Calif., and was also absent during the Week 0 broadcast.

Host Davis is at the helm for his 10th season, joined at the desk this week by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick SabanCollege football insider Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the “GameDay” cast.

  • Pat McAfee’s Kicking Contest: Returning for its second season, GameDaywill offer an exclusive contest during the live show, Pat McAfee’s Kicking Contest. Fans who arrive early will have a chance to be chosen from the ‘pit’ onsite with the opportunity to attempt a 33-yard field goal. If the contestant successfully completes the kick, they will be awarded $200,000 from McAfee.
