Where is Auburn baseball ranked after its series win at Tennessee?

Auburn baseball is coming off one of its most impressive series wins of the season last weekend, taking two of three games against defending national champions Tennessee in Knoxville.

It improved the Tigers to 33-15 overall this season and 13-11 in Southeastern Conference play. The wins entered Auburn’s name into contention for a national seed, further demonstrating the turnaround from the program’s poor 2024 season, in which it finished 8-22 in SEC play.

Auburn also moved up in the rankings following the series win, becoming a top 10 team in four of the five national polls.

After the quality series win over Tennessee, Auburn returns home to Plainsman Park for a series against South Carolina, the team sitting second to last in the SEC under head coach Paul Mainieri. The Gamecocks are currently 5-19 in SEC play and lost its last two games by a combined score of 30-3.

The series against South Carolina will be the last home series of the season, and second to last weekend of the regular season altogether.

Here’s where Auburn stands in the rankings ahead of the matchup with the Gamecocks:

  • D1 Baseball: No. 8
  • Baseball America: No. 5
  • Perfect Game: No. 8
  • USA Today Coaches Poll: No. 8
  • NCBWA: No. 12

Auburn also ranks fourth in the RPI, trailing Georgia and Texas, the only two teams to sweep the Tigers this season, and Vanderbilt. That, along with Auburn having the No. 2 strength of schedule in the country is what puts the Tigers in position to be a national seed.
