Where do Eagles’ DeVonta Smith, Jalen Hurts get winning mentality? ‘Bama’, WR says

Amidst the Philadelphia Eagles celebration of the NFC Championship Game and an appearance in the upcoming Super Bowl, receiver DeVonta Smith just preached that the job isn’t done.

While this is true, it wasn’t lost on one reporter how poised the former Alabama receiver was. His team just won the NFC title and is headed to the Super Bowl. The reporter even indicated there was a similar vibe coming from quarterback Jalen Hurts, who he characterized as stoic.

Where does that come from?

Smith had a one-word answer: Bama.

“I mean it’s amazing from OTAs to camp to now,” Smith said. Everybody came in every day and did the things they were supposed to do. Ultimately, the job’s not done.”

“It’s always fun winning. Winning is always fun.”

Check out the clip below to see Smith share where that mentality comes from.

Hurts had one of Philadelphia’s four rushing touchdowns and the Eagles soared into the Super Bowl, forcing both of San Francisco’s quarterbacks out of the game with injuries and beating the wounded 49ers 31-7 in the NFC championship game.

The Eagles won the Super Bowl five years ago with a different coach and quarterback. They’ll try to do it again behind the formidable duo of Hurts and Nick Sirianni.

Philadelphia will play the Kansas City Chiefs.

Miles Sanders ran for two touchdowns and linebacker Haason Reddick made the hit that forced 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy out of the game with an elbow injury.
