Where could it hit 100 degrees today in Alabama?

More above-average heat is in the forecast for Alabama on Wednesday, and some spots could even see the triple digits, according to forecasters.

The National Weather Service has heat advisories in effect for parts of south, west and central Alabama on Wednesday (areas in orange):

In those areas the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make the heat index, or “feels like” temperature climb to as high as 110 degrees this afternoon.

And rain showers are expected to be few and far between again today.

Other spots, like Dothan, Mobile and Montgomery could climb to 99 degrees this afternoon (see today’s forecast at the top of this post).

More mid- to upper 90s will be possible on Thursday, but according to weather service forecasts it may not be quite as hot as today is expected to be — except for south Alabama, which could see the triple digits again.
