The new Lifetime docuseries The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard is scheduled to premiere Friday, Jan. 5 at 8/7c.

Ever since her release from prison in late December, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has received overwhelming attention on social media earring nicknames from her online community of fans such as “queen” and “mother.”

Whether one empathizes with the convicted felon or not, everyone is on the edge of their seats to hear what prison was like for Gypsy in her own words, and the new Lifetime docuseries sets out to do just this.

“The six-hour special features unprecedented access to Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a victim of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy who suffered horrific abuse and made national headlines for her role in her mother’s violent murder… [Gypsy] is finally ready to tell her truth before she becomes a free woman for the first time in her life,” the docuseries description states.

The 2024 Gypsy Rose Lifetime docuseries will span over a course of six episodes with the first two episodes premiering Friday and two more premiering each day following.

The description for each episode is as follows:

  • Episode 1: Born a Prisoner – On the eve of Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s parole hearing, she shares shocking revelations and disturbing secrets; the now 31-year-old talks about her earliest childhood memories of unfounded medical conditions and allegations of sexual abuse.
  • Episode 2: Born a Prisoner; On the Run Part 2 – When Hurricane Katrina devastates Louisiana, Gypsy and her mother are relocated to Missouri; there, Gypsy comes to the grim realization she’s addicted to pain medication; when Gypsy runs away to be with her new boyfriend, there will be hell to pay.
  • Episode 3: I Pulled the Trigger – After running away, Gypsy is lured home by her mother with promises of freedom and independence; behind closed doors, Dee Dee chains Gypsy to the bed; a desperate Gypsy pulls a loaded gun on her mother, leading to a turn of events.
  • Episode 4: I Pulled the Trigger; Only Way Out Part 2 – Desperate to escape her mother, Dee Dee, Gypsy turns to Nick Godejohn, her long-distance boyfriend from a Christian dating site; the young couple hatches a plan to murder Dee Dee and be together forever.
  • Episode 5: Secret Engagement – Gypsy reveals a life-changing secret she’s been keeping from her closest family members: she is engaged to be married; Gypsy recalls appearing in court for her mother’s murder as her life of lies unfolds before a stunned community.
  • Episode 6: I Do. Or Do I? – Less than two weeks before her wedding, cold feet and past loves haunt Gypsy and threaten her impending nuptials; some family members plead with Gypsy to postpone the wedding; Gypsy faces her fear of happiness.
